(a)     Applicants who have undergone a major gynecological operation shall be assessed as unfit until full recovery.

(b)    Pregnancy

In the case of pregnancy, if the AeMC or AME considers that the license holder is fit to exercise her privileges, he/she shall limit the validity period of the medical certificate to the end of the 34th week of gestation. The license holder shall undergo a revalidation aero-medical examination and assessment after full recovery following the end of the pregnancy.

(a)    Gynecological surgery

Applicants who have undergone a major gynecological operation should be assessed as unfit until recovery is complete, the applicant is asymptomatic, and the risk of secondary complications or recurrence is minimal.

(b)    Pregnancy

(1) A pregnant license holder may be assessed as fit during the first 34 weeks of gestation provided obstetric evaluation continuously indicates a normal pregnancy.

(2) The AeMC or AME or the licensing authority should provide written advice to the applicant and the supervising physician regarding potentially significant complications of pregnancy which may negatively influence the safe exercise of the privileges of the license.
